PAC vs PLC

Advantages of the M10 controller compared to a PLC

1) Higher task execution speed
2) Ability to manage 6 + 254 controlled axes simultaneously
3) Very high expandability of inputs/outputs (3584 inputs and 3584 outputs)
4) Public-domain compiler, therefore installable on multiple computers simultaneously
5) C programming language
6) Robotics- and motion-oriented instruction libraries allow programs to be written very quickly and safely, resulting in reduced testing time

7) Dedicated and application-specific supervisor for the production line
8) Master board identical to expansion boards (a single spare part covers all requirements)
9) The M10 controller includes 4 RS232 and 2 RS422, enabling the management of additional peripherals (scales, scanners, labeling machines, connections to other supervisors) without adding extra hardware modules
10) The supervision software and compiler run on MS-DOS (also within a Windows environment), making it possible to replace the PC with virtually any unit in a very short time, or even run the supervision software from a floppy disk.
At the end of the installation, a backup USB drive is supplied containing the entire system (source files, compiler, supervisor and utilities), as well as an emergency floppy disk capable of booting and running the supervisor on any PC equipped with a floppy drive and an RS232 serial port.
Often, the end customer provides a second PC on which the entire system can be installed immediately, without any copyright or license violations.
The main advantage of the MS-DOS operating system is its absolute stability and minimal hardware requirements (only one RS232 port, VGA and FD and/or HD are required).
11)The cost of the M10 controller is significantly lower than that of a PLC with comparable performance and standard features.

a) 28 digital inputs (or 24 + 1 encoder)
b) 28 digital outputs
c) 2 analog inputs
d) Management of 6 + 254 brushless motors
e) 4 RS232
f) 2 RS422
g) 1 CAN (for input/output expansions)
h) 1 onboard display
i) Large amount of RAM and flash-EPROM memory
j) Hot-swappable backup battery
k) Logic components not subject to overheating
l) Overall program execution time typically below 6 milliseconds

The only drawback is that it is a dedicated device and therefore not programmable by a “standard PLC programmer”, but by a PC programmer.
However, modifying poorly documented PLC software is often more complex than editing self-commenting source code for a typical PC programmer.
For this reason, we provide a programming manual and are available to deliver dedicated training courses to customer personnel.
